The BC Fishing Tourism Association currently has a number of active committees that any current member can participate in.
Marketing Committee – The Fishing BC marketing program is one of the BC Fishing Tourism Associations most successful initiatives. This committee helps guide the direction of the marketing efforts so they meet the needs of our diverse stakeholder group.
Insurance Committee – The BC Fishing Tourism Insurance program is one of the core benefits to membership. This committee works at making sure this program is sustainable, affordable, and coverage’s meet the needs of stakeholders.
Office and Finance Committee – As a small non for profit organization, the BC Fishing Tourism Association must run a very nimble operation. This committee is focused on keeping the association within budget while also looking for new and innovative ways to reduce overhead and diversify it’s revenue streams.
Advocacy Committee – To protect the members from unfair and/or discriminatory legislations or government regulations is listed as one of the key purposes of the Association is our Constitution. While working with government is undoubtedly one of the key pillars of our advocacy work, our efforts go well beyond this. This committee’s work also looks at opportunities to partner with like minded organizations on things like tourism infrastructure investments, fish habitat and science projects, and the promotion of sustainable fishing practices.
